I design the system, then I ship it.

Prateek Saini

I started in 2013 as a web designer and developer at Effect Labs, writing front-end code from the first job. I never stopped.

Since then I've designed regulated enterprise platforms for health insurance, finance and government at Gemini Solutions, ticketing at BookMyShow, streaming for 100M+ monthly users at ZEE5, a US marketplace at Instawork and a healthcare platform at Tap Health.

Today I work AI-native every day, with Claude, Claude Code, Figma MCP and coded prototypes, and I ship production React and TypeScript myself. I mentor designers and lead through influence.

How I work

  1. 01

    Measure before I draw

    If there is no reliable number, I set one up first. At Tap Health that meant Mixpanel, which became the company standard.

  2. 02

    Optimise the journey before the screen

    The biggest wins came from fixing the whole journey: onboarding at ZEE5, a 10+ screen intake at Tap Health turned into a few short questions.

  3. 03

    System before screens

    At ZEE5, one token set let a single decision travel across Android, iOS, connected TV and web.

  4. 04

    AI as a labelled collaborator

    Every AI surface I ship cites its sources and leaves the decision with the person.

How I lead

    Mentoring

    I mentored 3 designers at Tap Health and 5 at Gemini Solutions.

  2. 02

    A shared craft bar

    I set the craft bar through design reviews and a shared definition of done.

  3. 03

    Systems others build on

    I built and governed the Instawork Design System, and took Pulse from concept to shipped React in 3 weeks.

  4. 04

    Research where the work happens

    Intel's floor in Phoenix, 30 agents and 20 customers in the field, doctors in consults.

Off screen I travel, shoot and fly. Every photo here is mine, and the settings under each one come from the file the camera wrote.
